Corporate and trades relocations heading south — often a full 3-bed home from the outer Brisbane growth belt. Toowoomba and Ipswich pickups feed into our Brisbane depot first, then join the Newell run. Budget around $5,550 for a 36 m³ 3-bed; add a day for the origin transfer leg.

Sunshine Coast estate → Frankston / bayside

The reverse of the retirement flow — adult kids clearing or consolidating a parent's Sunshine Coast home back to Melbourne's bayside. We collect north of Brisbane, transfer through the BNE depot, then run it down. A part-load of 20 m³ sits around $3,550; flexible dates (±1 week) knock 10% off.

Tips for Brisbane to Melbourne

01Southbound is the lighter-demand direction on this corridor — northbound trucks fill with sea-changers, so the Brisbane→Melbourne leg usually has open space and the easiest short-notice slots. The honest flipside: fewer loads share each southbound truck, so the per-m³ rate runs above the northbound leg — which makes the ±1 week flex discount (10% off, automatic) worth the most right here.
02We run the inland Newell Highway (Goondiwindi, Moree, Dubbo, Parkes, West Wyalong, then Tocumwal into Victoria), not the coast — so Pacific Highway flooding in northern NSW rarely touches this direction.
03Declare fruit, veg and honey before pickup: leaving QLD you cross the NSW and then Victorian fruit-fly zones, so finish the pantry produce or gift it rather than packing it.
04No live plants in soil — biosecurity bans them interstate. Potted herbs, indoor plants and the lot all have to stay behind or go bare-rooted at your own risk.
05Book 7-10 days ahead. At 3× weekly this is our least-frequent lane, and locking in early gets you the front of the 4-7 day pickup window plus first pick of dates.

Is going south cheaper than the Melbourne to Brisbane direction?

No — it's actually the dearer leg, and we'd rather tell you why than hide it in a 'from' price. Most demand on this corridor runs north (retirees and sea-changers heading to Queensland), so a southbound truck carries fewer paying loads to share its costs with, and the per-m³ rate sits above Melbourne→Brisbane's. What the spare southbound space does buy you is easy short-notice booking — and flexible dates (±1 week) still take 10% off, which matters most on the corridor's longest, dearest leg. It's a fixed price inc GST either way.

Which route do you take, and does it flood like the coast?

We run the inland Newell Highway — Goondiwindi, Moree, Dubbo, Parkes, then Tocumwal into Victoria. It's the faster, more reliable path for this direction and avoids the Pacific Highway coastal flood spots in northern NSW. Heavy inland rain can still add time, so keep a flex day if you're moving in a wet stretch.

I'm in Toowoomba or Ipswich, not Brisbane itself — can you still do it?

Yes. We collect from Toowoomba, Ipswich and the wider south-east and bring it into our Brisbane depot, where it joins the regular Newell run to Melbourne. Add about a day for that transfer leg, and tell us the exact pickup address at quote so we price the feeder in.
