What is backloading and why is it cheaper?
Backloading means your furniture rides on a truck that's already making the trip, sharing the space (and the cost) with other loads. A dedicated removalist charges you for the whole truck; with backloading you pay for the space your goods take, not a whole truck.
Is backloading insured?
Your goods travel under our Terms of Carriage. Pea does not currently provide goods-in-transit insurance; most home and contents policies can add transit cover for an interstate move, so ask your insurer before moving day. Anything lost or damaged is handled under the Terms of Carriage — tell us within 7 days of delivery. Every move also includes driver-assisted loading and unloading, an email confirmation when you book and your pickup window the day before.
How is the price worked out?
Price is based on your volume in cubic metres and the route distance. You get an instant estimate online in about 60 seconds. When you accept, your price is fixed for the move you described and we confirm truck space for your dates within 1 business day; it only changes if the volume, access or add-ons differ from what you told us. Flexible dates (±1 week) take 10% off the linehaul.
