Backloading sells empty space, and this corridor's space isn't symmetric. More freight and more households head into SA than out. A westbound truck shares its 1,376 km across more paying loads, so it quotes $132/m³; the eastbound one quotes $152/m³. If you're moving Adelaide→Sydney, two things work in your favour.
